About us
The Ōtepoti Dunedin Whānau Refuge Fundraising Committee is a group of dedicated Otago University law students who come together each year to organise and deliver a range of fundraising events.
Originally formed through the Law for Change Otago initiative, the committee has grown into a passionate, independent group committed to supporting the local community.
Through their energy, creativity, and commitment, the committee raises vital funds that strengthen the support we provide to wāhine, tamariki, and whānau across Ōtepoti.

What does it mean to fundraise for ODWR ?
Fundraising for Ōtepoti Dunedin Whānau Refuge is a meaningful way to support our kaupapa and the whānau we walk alongside.
Our community fundraising is led by university students who generously give their time, energy, and creativity to support our work. Each year, students plan and deliver a range of fundraising activities across Dunedin, whether it’s a one-off event, the amazing annual Auction, or a campaign running over several weeks or months.
By fundraising for Ōtepoti Dunedin Whānau Refuge, you are directly supporting to tamariki, rangatahi, and whānau who have experienced violence and trauma. Your positive efforts contribute to creating safer homes, community spaces, strengthening access to support, and sustaining the long-term work needed to make what is at times an intergenerational shift.
